10 FUN DATE IDEAS THIS VALENTINE'S DAY

BY: DAVID GUISON

1. Take her to a theme park. Nothing beats acting like kids again with your special someone. Go to Enchanted Kingdom in  Santa Rosa or Sky Ranch in Tagaytay.
2. Surprise her to a spa date. I recommend The Spa in Bonifacio High Street, Le Spa in Sofitel or Qiwellness Living Spa in Tagaytay.
3. A hotel staycation. There are tons of nice hotels in Manila now so you won’t find a hard time looking for one! I highly recommend Sofitel (Roxas Boulevard), Discovery Primea (Makati), Holiday Inn (Makati), B Hotel (Quezon City) or Seda Hotel (Fort Bonifacio).
4. Take her to her favorite restaurant or one to which she has always wanted to go. Buy her flowers.
5. Go food tripping. Head to UP for some isaw, take a walk at the Sunken Garden, drive around Maginhawa or Kapitolyo and try different hole-in-the-wall restaurants.

6. Go on a hiking trip. If you both love the outdoors, this would be a really fun date for the both of you. Try Mt. Pico de Loro, Mt. Batulao, Mt. Maculot, Mt. Pinatubo or even Mt. Pulag! Plus pogi points if you buy her trekking shoes (make sure to have it gift wrapped).
7. Revisit your childhood. Bring her to the places you go to when you were still a kid. You will get to know your partner more and will make you closer to one another!
8. Surprise her with an out of town trip. Have everything planned out from the restaurant, the hotel, the itinerary, etc. Try Tagaytay, Subic, Laiya, La Union, Baler or Baguio!
9. Go barhopping. Probably the most realistic and most ~millennial~ date idea I thought of. Haha! Why not? If you both love to party, try barhopping without any of your friends. Just you and your partner.
10. Cook for her. Women love a great cook. They also love a bad cook who’s at least willing to try. Prepare a romantic table setup (an indoor picnic would work too). Buy cold cuts and cheese, a bottle of wine and prepare a special dish (there are a lot of quick and easy recipes online). Cooking is more intimate and it will surely give your partner a memorable Valentine’s Day.
